About PRP Micro-Needling

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is obtained by performing a simple blood draw on the patient, then the blood is processed here in our Asbury Park, NJ office to harvest the platelets from the other blood components. That final product is used during a treatment or procedure to enhance the healing and restorative properties of the skin and tissues. The power of PRP, sometimes called “liquid gold” has been demonstrated to contain a large amount of natural growth factors which stimulate cellular regeneration and healing. The PRP facial is performed right here in our Asbury Park, NJ office. PRP treatments can be used on all skin types and tones. Our medical aestheticians at Fourth N Main are experienced providers in the area using PRP in aesthetic treatments and were early adopters of using the power of PRP for enhancement and rejuvenation.

How Does PRP microneedling work?

PRP is a concentrated form of platelets from your blood. Before your microneedling session, our skilled professionals will extract blood and place it in a centrifuge to isolate platelets and plasma.

Injecting PRP alone into the selected areas for treatment can help stimulate collagen and elastin. Collagen and elastin are proteins known for improving skin moisture and elasticity.

Aside from overall improvement in skin texture and elasticity, PRP treatments are good for healing physical trauma and joint injury. They are also an excellent option for treating male pattern baldness or stimulating hair growth in combination with transplants and other hair-related procedures.

Microneedling uses very thin needles for stimulating collagen and elastin production. The treatment involves creating controlled microinjuries in the skin to trigger the body to release chemicals and proteins that promote skin healing.

Combining PRP and microneedling in one treatment greatly increases collagen and elastin production in the selected area for treatment. Expect enhanced results with the addition of PRP in our microneedling session at Fourth N Main.

Am i a good candidate for prp microneedling?

The best candidates for a PRP microneedling treatment are healthy individuals who want to improve issues like hyperpigmentation, scars, sagging skin, stretch marks, or wrinkles. People who are interested in improving skin elasticity can greatly benefit from this treatment.

Patients must fully treat any active skin infections before a PRP microneedling treatment in order to prevent further spread.
