JUVÉDERM (Ultra Plus, Voluma, Volbella, Vollure and Volux)

These are injectable gels of varying firmness, comprised of hyaluronic acid that is injected into facial tissue to volumize and smooth wrinkles and folds, especially around the nose and mouth. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar found in the human body. Juvederm products have been FDA approved to treat areas of facial wrinkling and soft tissue depressions.

Restylane® Filler

Restylane® is a naturally occurring substance that is found within all mammals. It is a material that is contained in various soft tissues. Hyaluronic acid is chemically stabilized and purified for use as an injectable soft tissue filler. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane® is biocompatible so there is little risk of allergic reaction. Restylane® has been FDA approved for the cosmetic treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and soft tissue depressions.

Revanesse Versa®

Revanesse Versa® is an FDA approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that can be used to treat moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, including nasolabial folds.

Revance RHA® Collection of Fillers

The RHA® collection is resilient hyaluronic acid dermal fillers designed for facial dynamics, and represents the latest advancement in hyaluronic acid (HA) technology in more than a decade, using a gentle manufacturing process to more closely resemble the natural HA in the skin.

Sculptra®

As a poly-L-lactic (PLLA) collagen stimulator, Sculptra® helps restore the deep, underlying structure of the skin to diminish facial wrinkles. Sculptra® works with your body within the deep dermis to help revitalize collagen production and help restore your skin’s inner structure and volume.

Radiesse® Filler

Radiesse® colonizing dermal filler consists of tiny, smooth, calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a sodium carboxymethylcellulose gel carrier. Upon injection, it initially acts as a filler. It is easily malleable, can be used to shape and contour large areas of the face, and provides an immediate one-to-one correction for results patients can see right away. Once injected, Radiesse® dermal filler starts the process we refer to as neocollagenesis, stimulating the steady, ongoing growth of the body’s own collagen.

Frequently asked questions

What is Juvederm Ultra XC?

Juvederm is the #1 selling collection of hyaluronic acid fillers in the US. Each product in the Juvederm collection of fillers adds volume to a different area of the face to lift cheeks, smooth parentheses lines, or plump the lips. The results are natural-looking and long-lasting.

What are fillers made from?

Fillers are made from hyaluronic acid (HA). What’s interesting about HA is that it’s a natural substance in the skin that delivers nutrients, helps the skin retain moisture and softness, and adds volume.

What should you expect with your injection treatment?

Your aesthetic specialist administers the treatment during a brief office visit. Most fillers contain lidocaine to help minimize discomfort during treatment. If you’re still concerned about treatment discomfort, your aesthetic specialist may offer additional anesthetic options for you.

Are there any reasons why I should not receive a Filler treatment?

Do not use these products if you have a history of multiple severe allergies or severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis), or if you are allergic to lidocaine or the gram-positive bacterial proteins used in these products. If you are experiencing any dental issues, if you expect to have dental work done, or if you are experiencing any outbreaks, please consult with your medical provider.

What should I tell my Injector about?

Tell your Injector if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The safety of these products for use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding has not been studied. Tell your Injector if you have a history of excessive scarring (e.g. hypertrophic scarring and keloid formations) or pigmentation disorders, as the use of these products may result in additional scars or changes in pigmentation.

Tell your Injector if you are planning other laser treatments or a chemical peel, as there is a possible risk of inflammation at the treatment site if these procedures are performed after treatment. Patients who experience skin injury near the site of injection with these products may be at a higher risk for side effects.

Tell your Injector if you are on immunosuppressive therapy used to decrease the body’s immune response, as the use of these products may result in an increased risk of infection.

Tell your Injector if you are using medications that can prolong bleeding, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or other blood thinners, as this may result in increased bruising or bleeding at the injection site. Minimize strenuous exercise, exposure to extensive sun or heat, and alcoholic beverages within the first 24 hours following treatment.

How long does a filler treatment take?

This can vary depending on the filler, but typically an average treatment can take 10-30 minutes, and usually only takes one office visit.

Is there downtime after a filler treatment?

Again this varies with the filler, but usually there is little to no downtime. Always consult with the provider prior to the treatment regarding possible downtime.

Is there anything I should avoid right after a filler treatment?

Most patients can return to normal activities after their filler treatment. Your provider may give you an ice pack to apply to the treated area for 10-15 minutes to minimize any swelling or redness.

How soon will it be before I see results?

Some fillers will produce immediate or near-immediate results. For fillers that stimulate collagen, it will take a longer amount of time to see results.

Will I have a “natural” appearance after a filler treatment?

This is a very common concern among patients, as it should be! It is crucial that you utilize the expertise of highly-trained and experienced providers to perform your filler treatment. A more conservative approach is best when striving for natural results, and our experienced providers at Fourth N Main Modern Aesthetics in Asbury Park, NJ will ensure you look your best, naturally.

What are the possible side effects from a filler treatment?

Some patients may experience temporary, minor side effects after a filler treatment including:

  • Swelling
  • Redness
  • Occasional bruising
  • Tenderness in the treated area

How long do fillers last?

Most filler results are temporary, and will require retreatment to maintain results. Depending on the filler, results can last anywhere from 4 months to 3 years. Please consult with your provider to determine when you may need another treatment.
